Tea Party Queen
My first assignment for my Illustration Portfolio class. Based off of this article. This bitch is crazy/terrifying.
Obviously, it's a twist on the famous Titanic scene, with Sarah Palin holding up the Tea Party's overnight celebrity, Christine O'Donnell. The men in the background are a play off of the 1773 Boston Tea Party, where they are throwing cash overboard rather than tea. If the GOP supports her campaign, they'll just be throwing away money because she is virtually unelectable.

Thesis Pieces!
My final pieces for SVA's Classical Myths: Transformed thesis show. All pieces are mixed media on illustration board, 15"x15". My theme is the Lovers of Zeus. Click each image to enlarge.
The stories of Zeus's flagrant promiscuity are among some of the most well-known in Greek mythology. Zeus's sexual couplings with mortal women were often carried out under bizarre disguises in order to evade Hera's watchful eye. I wanted to capture the eroticism in these disturbing displays of sexuality and portray them as seemingly natural acts of love. My pieces evoke the decorative style of Alphonse Mucha and the steamy imagery of tawdry romance novel covers.
